When to go to Chapada dos Veadeiros

When people ask us "What is the best time of the year to visit the Chapada dos Veadeiros?", our answer is "it depends ...", it depends on the purpose of your trip.

The region of the Chapada dos Veadeiros (a region of tropical mountain climate) has two well defined seasons, the dry season which covers the period from May to September and the rainy season from October to April. Both seasons have specific peculiarities and beauties.

During the dry season, air becomes drier and brings to the Chapada a mountain climate. So this time of the year is more suitable for the practice of adventure sports. With lower temperatures and little rain,  stones are cooler and less slippery, thus reducing the incidence of accidents and burns. It is also in the dry season that the water of the falls are clearer, but with a lower flow.

In the rainy season, when downpours occurs, the volume of water of the falls are higher and the vegetation is lusher. In this period it is important to check the rain index, because if the index is low, the rainfalls will not spoil your trip. Some tours are better during this time of year.
